Being a foodie and wanting to turn this passion into a business? Looking to promote your local culture and create businesses beneficial to your community? Join us in the South-South Entrepreneurship Academy 2nd Cohort on “Gastrotourism and Entrepreneurship” to learn hands-on entrepreneurial skills and meet young entrepreneurs from across Asia-Pacific!
In this cohort, we will invite entrepreneurs, professors and innovators from the food and tourism industries to deliver talks, panels and interactive workshops on gastro-tourism and entrepreneurship. You can also get a chance to practice what you learn by developing your own business plan and get immediate feedback from our experts. These are followed by a field trip around the innovative hubs and enterprises in Shenzhen to give you a taste of how gastrotourism business operates.
What is South-South Entrepreneurship Academy?
South-South Entrepreneurship Academy is a series of intensive entrepreneurship training camps designed to equip youth from the developing countries with the qualities, skills, knowledge and know-how of global citizenship and entrepreneurship so that they can help to move forward the sustainable development agenda that leaves no one behind. The first pilot cohort of the Academy was convened in April 2019, which successfully trained 26 students on financial technology and entrepreneurship. The Academy is organized under the Platform of the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) - Youth for South as part of its activity for the Asia-Pacific Region, in partnership with the Centre for Business/Social Sustainability and Innovations (BSSI) of Gratia Business School of Gratia Christian College, with support from Shun Tak Holdings Limited, the Government of Hong Kong SAR (Cyberport), Youth Square, UNESCO Hong Kong Association, and Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation.

What is South-South Cooperation?
South-South cooperation (SSC) refers to the cooperation among developing countries, working together to find solutions to common development challenges. Linked by similarities in their development contexts and challenges, the countries of the South have been increasingly active in sharing knowledge, exchanging technologies and forming common agenda and collective actions.
In the South-South Entrepreneurship Academy, we promote South-South Cooperation by placing the perspectives and demands of the developing countries at the centre. Entrepreneurs from the developing countries can learn from each other's experience, encouraging and empowering each other to overcome the common constraints of their environment through innovation and the passion to help their home country advance towards the Sustainable Development Goals.
